Overclocking:

We overclocked the XFX GeForce 7950 GT 570M Extreme using NVIDIA's coolbits registry hack. This should give an indication of how well this video card overclocks, but please bear in mind that your own mileage may vary. We had a fan blowing air at 800RPM across the I/O ports on our P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard positioned close to the SATA ports. This was not blowing air directly at the card, it was passing moving air nearby, as you would experience in a case. Unfortunately, due to the short amount of time we have had with the card, we were unable to install the card in a system to comprehensively test overclockability in an enclosure, but our simulation should help to give you an idea of what to realistically expect.

The stock clocks for the XFX GeForce 7950 GT 570M Extreme are 570MHz core and 730MHz (1460MHz effective) on the memory.

XFX GeForce 7950 GT 570M Extreme - overclocked
We played Counter-Strike: Source on bit-tech's gaming server for a couple of hours using the XFX GeForce 7950 GT 570M Extreme at the overclocked frequencies to ensure that the card was stable. There were no stability problems to report and we finally settled on a 580MHz core clock and a 777MHz (1554MHz effective) memory clock.

The overclock isn't particularly sparkling, but then we were not expecting to get much more out of the card due to the fanless design. You may well achieve higher clock frequencies with this card if you direct airflow right above the card to ensure that the heatsink stays reasonably cool.
